6:4 They invaded the land ¹  and devoured ²  its crops ³  all the way to Gaza. They left nothing for the Israelites to eat, ⁴  and they took away ⁵  the sheep, oxen, and donkeys.

Civil War Breaks Out

20:1 All the Israelites from Dan to Beer Sheba ⁶  and from the land of Gilead ⁷  left their homes ⁸  and assembled together ⁹  before the Lord at Mizpah.

[20:1]  ⁶ sn Dan was located in the far north of the country, while Beer Sheba was located in the far south. This encompassed all the territory of the land of Canaan occupied by the Israelites.
