TB NETBible YUN-IBR Ref. Silang Nama Gambar Himne

Yesaya 60:6

Konteks

60:6 Camel caravans will cover your roads, 1

young camels from Midian and Ephah.

All the merchants of Sheba 2  will come,

and singing praises to the Lord. 3

Yesaya 66:20

Konteks
66:20 They will bring back all your countrymen 4  from all the nations as an offering to the Lord. They will bring them 5  on horses, in chariots, in wagons, on mules, and on camels 6  to my holy hill Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “just as the Israelites bring offerings to the Lord’s temple in ritually pure containers.

Yeremia 2:23

Konteks

2:23 “How can you say, ‘I have not made myself unclean.

I have not paid allegiance to 7  the gods called Baal.’

Just look at the way you have behaved in the Valley of Hinnom! 8

Think about the things you have done there!

You are like a flighty, young female camel

that rushes here and there, crisscrossing its path. 9

[60:6]  1 tn Heb “an abundance of camels will cover you.”

[60:6]  2 tn Heb “all of them, from Sheba.”

[60:6]  3 tn Heb “and they will announce the praises of the Lord.”

[66:20]  4 tn Heb “brothers” (so NIV); NCV “fellow Israelites.”

[66:20]  5 tn The words “they will bring them” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[66:20]  6 tn The precise meaning of this word is uncertain. Some suggest it refers to “chariots.” See HALOT 498 s.v. *כִּרְכָּרָה.

[2:23]  7 tn Heb “I have not gone/followed after.” See the translator’s note on 2:5 for the meaning and usage of this idiom.

[2:23]  8 tn Heb “Look at your way in the valley.” The valley is an obvious reference to the Valley of Hinnom where Baal and Molech were worshiped and child sacrifice was practiced.

[2:23]  9 sn The metaphor is intended to depict Israel’s lack of clear direction and purpose without the Lord’s control.
