Kejadian 19:31
Konteks19:31 Later the older daughter said 1 to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man anywhere nearby 2 to have sexual relations with us, 3 according to the way of all the world.
Kejadian 37:32
Konteks37:32 Then they brought the special tunic to their father 4 and said, “We found this. Determine now whether it is your son’s tunic or not.”
Kejadian 45:10
Konteks45:10 You will live 5 in the land of Goshen, and you will be near me – you, your children, your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and everything you have.
[19:31] 1 tn Heb “and the firstborn said.”
[19:31] 2 tn Or perhaps “on earth,” in which case the statement would be hyperbolic; presumably there had been some men living in the town of Zoar to which Lot and his daughters had initially fled.
[19:31] 3 tn Heb “to enter upon us.” This is a euphemism for sexual relations.
[37:32] 4 tn Heb “and they sent the special tunic and they brought [it] to their father.” The text as it stands is problematic. It sounds as if they sent the tunic on ahead and then came and brought it to their father. Some emend the second verb to a Qal form and read “and they came.” In this case, they sent the tunic on ahead.
[45:10] 5 tn The perfect verbal form with vav consecutive here expresses instruction.
