27:38 Esau said to his father, “Do you have only that one blessing, my father? Bless me too!” ¹  Then Esau wept loudly. ²

[27:38]  ¹ tn Heb “Bless me, me also, my father.” The words “my father” have not been repeated in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[42:24]  ³ tn Heb “and he turned to them and spoke to them.”

[42:24]  ⁴ tn Heb “took Simeon.” This was probably done at Joseph’s command, however; the grand vizier of Egypt would not have personally seized a prisoner.

[42:24]  ⁵ tn Heb “and he bound him.” See the note on the preceding verb “taken.”
