9:19 These were the sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was populated. ¹

4:27 Then the Lord will scatter you among the peoples and there will be very few of you ²  among the nations where the Lord will drive you.

[9:19]  ¹ tn Heb “was scattered.” The verb פָּצָה (patsah, “to scatter” [Niphal, “to be scattered”]) figures prominently in story of the dispersion of humankind in chap. 11.

[4:27]  ² tn Heb “you will be left men (i.e., few) of number.”
