  Come, ye children of the Lord, Let us sing with one accord, Let us raise a joyful strain To our Lord, who soon will reign On this earth, when it shall be Cleansed from all iniquity; When all men from sin will cease, And will live in love and peace. O, how joyful it will be When our Savior we shall see! When in splendor He’ll descend, Then all wickedness shall end. O what songs we then will sing To our Savior, Lord and King! Those three Sundays before Lent Will prepare us to repent; That in Lent we may begin Earnestly to mourn for sin. Holy Week and Easter, then, Tell who died and rose again; O that happy Easter day! “Christ is risen indeed,” we say. Yes, and Christ ascended, too, To prepare a place for you; So we give Him special praise, After those great forty days. Then, He sent the Holy Ghost, On the day of Pentecost, With us ever to abide: Well may we keep Whitsuntide! Last of all, we humbly sing Glory to our God and King, Glory to the One in three, On the Feast of Trinity.

• [Why 1:5] Let Us Love And Sing And Wonder

  Let us love and sing and wonder, Let us praise the Savior’s Name! He has hushed the law’s loud thunder, He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame. He has washed us with His blood, He has brought us nigh to God. Let us love the Lord Who bought us, Pitied us when enemies, Called us by His grace, and taught us, Gave us ears and gave us eyes: He has washed us with His blood, He presents our souls to God. Let us sing, though fierce temptation Threaten hard to bear us down! For the Lord, our strong Salvation, Holds in view the conqueror’s crown: He Who washed us with His blood Soon will bring us home to God. Let us wonder; grace and justice Join and point to mercy’s store; When through grace in Christ our trust is, Justice smiles and asks no more: He Who washed us with His blood Has secured our way to God.
