Lukas 15:17

15:17 But when he came to his senses ¹  he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have food ²  enough to spare, but here I am dying from hunger!

Lukas 24:18

24:18 Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered him, ³  “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who doesn’t know ⁴  the things that have happened there ⁵  in these days?”

[15:17]  ² tn Grk “bread,” but used figuratively for food of any kind (L&N 5.1).

[24:18]  ³ tn Grk “answering him, said.” This is redundant in English and has been simplified in the translation.

[24:18]  ⁴ sn There is irony and almost a sense of mocking disbelief as the question “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things that have happened there in these days?” comes to Jesus; but, of course, the readers know what the travelers do not.
