Matius 3:2

3:2 “Repent, ¹  for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

Matius 3:6

3:6 and he was baptizing them ²  in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

[3:2]  ¹ tn Grk “and saying, ‘Repent.’” The participle λέγων (legwn) at the beginning of v. 2 is redundant in English and has not been translated.

[3:6]  ² tn Grk “they were being baptized by him.” The passive construction has been rendered as active in the translation for the sake of English style.
