83:11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, ¹ 

and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna, ² 

Yesaya 5:25

5:25 So the Lord is furious ³  with his people;

he lifts ⁴  his hand and strikes them.

The mountains shake,

and corpses lie like manure ⁵  in the middle of the streets.

Despite all this, his anger does not subside,

and his hand is ready to strike again. ⁶ 

Yeremia 8:2

8:2 They will be spread out and exposed to the sun, the moon and the stars. ⁷  These are things they ⁸  adored and served, things to which they paid allegiance, ⁹  from which they sought guidance, and worshiped. The bones of these people ¹⁰  will never be regathered and reburied. They will be like manure used to fertilize the ground. ¹¹ 

[83:11]  ¹ sn Oreb and Zeeb were the generals of the Midianite army that was defeated by Gideon. The Ephraimites captured and executed both of them and sent their heads to Gideon (Judg 7:24-25).

[83:11]  ² sn Zebah and Zalmunna were the Midianite kings. Gideon captured them and executed them (Judg 8:1-21).
