Mazmur 9:11

9:11 Sing praises to the Lord, who rules ¹  in Zion!

Tell the nations what he has done! ² 

Yesaya 40:27

40:27 Why do you say, Jacob,

Why do you say, Israel,

“The Lord is not aware of what is happening to me, ³ 

My God is not concerned with my vindication”? ⁴ 

[9:11]  ¹ tn Heb “sits” (i.e., enthroned, and therefore ruling – see v. 4). Another option is to translate as “lives” or “dwells.”

[9:11]  ² tn Heb “declare among the nations his deeds.”

[40:27]  ³ tn Heb “my way is hidden from the Lord” (so NAB, NASB, NIV, NRSV).

[40:27]  ⁴ tn Heb “and from my God my justice passes away”; NRSV “my right is disregarded by my God.”
