Rejection at Nazareth

6:1 Now ¹  Jesus left that place and came to his hometown, ²  and his disciples followed him.

Markus 6:10

6:10 He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there ³  until you leave the area.

[6:1]  ¹ tn Grk “And.” Here καί (kai) has been translated as “now” to indicate the transition to a new topic.

[6:1]  ² sn Jesus’ hometown (where he spent his childhood years) was Nazareth, about 20 miles (30 km) southwest of Capernaum.

[6:10]  ³ sn Jesus telling his disciples to stay there in one house contrasts with the practice of religious philosophers in the ancient world who went from house to house begging.
