The Parable of the Unforgiving Slave

18:23 “For this reason, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves. ¹ 

Lukas 16:2

16:2 So ²  he called the manager ³  in and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? ⁴  Turn in the account of your administration, ⁵  because you can no longer be my manager.’

[16:2]  ⁴ sn Although phrased as a question, the charges were believed by the owner, as his dismissal of the manager implies.

[16:2]  ⁵ tn Or “stewardship”; the Greek word οἰκονομία (oikonomia) is cognate with the noun for the manager (οἰκονόμος, oikonomo").
