24:1 The Lord owns the earth and all it contains,

the world and all who live in it.

33:14 From the place where he lives he looks carefully

at all the earth’s inhabitants.

96:1 Sing to the Lord a new song! ³ 

Sing to the Lord, all the earth!

[24:1]  ¹ sn Psalm 24. The psalmist affirms the universal kingship of the sovereign creator, reminds his people that only the morally pure are qualified to worship him, and celebrates his splendor as a mighty warrior king.

[96:1]  ² sn Psalm 96. The psalmist summons everyone to praise the Lord, the sovereign creator of the world who preserves and promotes justice in the earth.

[96:1]  ³ sn A new song is appropriate because the Lord is constantly intervening in the world as its just king. See also Pss 33:3; 40:3; 98:1.
