Mazmur 34:4

34:4 I sought the Lord’s help ¹  and he answered me;

he delivered me from all my fears.

34:6 This oppressed man cried out and the Lord heard;

[34:6]  ² tn The pronoun refers back to “this oppressed man,” namely, the psalmist.

[78:42]  ³ tn Heb “his hand,” symbolizing his saving activity and strength, as the next line makes clear.

[78:42]  ⁴ tn Heb “[the] day [in] which he ransomed them from [the] enemy.”

[102:20]  ⁵ tn Heb “the sons of death.” The phrase “sons of death” (see also Ps 79:11) is idiomatic for those condemned to die.
