[51:15]  1 tn Heb “open my lips.” The imperfect verbal form is used here to express the psalmist’s wish or request.

[51:15]  2 tn Heb “and my mouth will declare your praise.”

[29:18]  3 tn Or “In that day” (KJV).

[29:18]  4 tn Heb “and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see.”

[29:18]  sn Perhaps this depicts the spiritual transformation of the once spiritually insensitive nation (see vv. 10-12, cf. also 6:9-10).

[32:3]  5 tn Heb “Eyes that see.”

[32:3]  6 tn The Hebrew text as vocalized reads literally “will not gaze,” but this is contradictory to the context. The verb form should be revocalized as תְּשֹׁעֶינָה (tÿshoenah) from שָׁעַע (shaa’, “be blinded”); see Isa 6:10; 29:9.

[32:3]  7 tn Heb “ears that hear.”

[32:4]  8 tn Heb “the heart of rashness will understand knowledge”; cf. NAB “The flighty will become wise and capable.”

[35:6]  9 tn Heb “burst forth” (so NAB); KJV “break out.”

[35:6]  10 tn Or “Arabah” (NASB); KJV, NIV, NRSV, NLT “desert.”

[26:18]  11 sn To open their eyes so that they turn… Here is Luke’s most comprehensive report of Paul’s divine calling. His role was to call humanity to change their position before God and experience God’s forgiveness as a part of God’s family. The image of turning is a key one in the NT: Luke 1:79; Rom 2:19; 13:12; 2 Cor 4:6; 6:14; Eph 5:8; Col 1:12; 1 Thess 5:5. See also Luke 1:77-79; 3:3; 24:47.

[26:18]  12 tn BDAG 352-53 s.v. ἐξουσία 2 states, “Also of Satan’s power Ac 26:18.” It is also possible to translate this “the domain of Satan” (cf. BDAG 353 s.v. 6)

[26:18]  13 tn Or “and an inheritance.”
