Mazmur 119:33-34

119:33 Teach me, O Lord, the lifestyle prescribed by your statutes, ¹ 

so that I might observe it continually. ² 

119:34 Give me understanding so that I might observe your law,

and keep it with all my heart. ³

[119:33]  ¹ tn Heb “the way of your statutes.”

[119:33]  ² tn Heb “and I will keep it to the end.” The prefixed verbal form with vav (ו) conjunctive indicates purpose/result after the preceding imperative. The Hebrew term עֵקֶב (’eqev) is understood to mean “end” here. Another option is to take עֵקֶב (’eqev) as meaning “reward” here (see Ps 19:11) and to translate, “so that I might observe it and be rewarded.”

[119:34]  ³ tn The two prefixed verbal forms with vav (ו) conjunctive indicate purpose/result after the introductory imperative.

[7:15]  ⁴ tn Or “worship.” The word here is λατρεύω (latreuw).

[7:15]  ⁵ tn Grk “will spread his tent over them,” normally an idiom for taking up residence with someone, but when combined with the preposition ἐπί (epi, “over”) the idea is one of extending protection or shelter (BDAG 929 s.v. σκηνόω).

[22:11]  ⁶ tn Grk “must do evil still.”
