[4:9]  1 tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated since English normally uses a coordinating conjunction only between the last two elements in a series of three or more.

[16:9]  2 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “thus” to indicate the implied result of the bowl poured on the sun.

[16:9]  3 tn Grk “men,” but this is a generic use of ἄνθρωπος (anqrwpo") and refers to both men and women.

[16:9]  4 tn On this phrase BDAG 536 s.v. καῦμα states, “burning, heat Rv 7:16καυματίζεσθαι κ. μέγα be burned with a scorching heat 16:9.”

[16:9]  5 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “yet” to indicate the contrast present in this context.

[16:9]  6 tn For the translation “ruling authority” for ἐξουσία (exousia) see L&N 37.35.

[7:19]  7 tn Heb “give glory to.”

[7:1]  8 tn Heb “But the sons of Israel were unfaithful with unfaithfulness concerning what was set apart [to the Lord].”

[7:1]  9 tn 1 Chr 2:6 lists a “Zimri” (but no Zabdi) as one of the five sons of Zerah (cf. also 1 Chr 7:17, 18).

[7:1]  10 tn Heb “took from what was set apart [to the Lord].”

[7:1]  11 tn Heb “the anger of the Lord burned against the sons of Israel.”

[7:1]  sn This incident illustrates well the principle of corporate solidarity and corporate guilt. The sin of one man brought the Lord’s anger down upon the entire nation.

[6:5]  12 tn Heb “your mice.” A Qumran ms has simply “the mice.”

[6:5]  13 tn Heb “Perhaps he will lighten his hand from upon you and from upon your gods and from upon your land.”

[42:12]  14 tn Heb “Let them ascribe to the Lord glory.”

[42:12]  15 tn Heb “and his praise in the coastlands [or “islands”] let them declare.”

[2:2]  16 tn Heb “and if you do not place upon [the] heart”; KJV, NAB, NRSV “lay it to heart.”

[2:2]  17 tn Heb “the curse” (so NASB, NRSV); NLT “a terrible curse.”

[17:18]  18 sn Jesus’ point in calling the man a foreigner is that none of the other nine, who were presumably Israelites, responded with gratitude. Only the “outsiders” were listening and responding.
