25:16 For anyone who acts dishonestly in these ways is abhorrent ¹  to the Lord your God.

[25:16]  ¹ tn The Hebrew term translated here “abhorrent” (תּוֹעֵבָה, to’evah) speaks of attitudes and/or behaviors so vile as to be reprehensible to a holy God. See note on the word “abhorrent” in Deut 7:25.

[32:31]  ² tn Heb “their,” but the referent (enemies) is specified in the translation for the sake of clarity.

[32:34]  ³ tn Verses 34-35 appear to be a quotation of the Lord and so the introductory phrase “says the Lord” is supplied in the translation.
