Ulangan 28:63

28:63 This is what will happen: Just as the Lord delighted to do good for you and make you numerous, he ¹  will take delight in destroying and decimating you. You will be uprooted from the land you are about to possess.

Ulangan 29:28

29:28 So the Lord has uprooted them from their land in anger, wrath, and great rage and has deported them to another land, as is clear today.”

Mazmur 37:9

37:9 Wicked men ²  will be wiped out, ³ 

but those who rely on the Lord are the ones who will possess the land. ⁴ 

Mazmur 37:28-29

37:28 For the Lord promotes ⁵  justice,

and never abandons ⁶  his faithful followers.

They are permanently secure, ⁷ 

but the children ⁸  of evil men are wiped out. ⁹ 

37:29 The godly will possess the land

and will dwell in it permanently.

10:30 The righteous will never be moved,

[37:9]  ² tn Heb “for evil men.” The conjunction כִּי (ki, “for”) relates to the exhortations in v. 8; there is no reason to be frustrated, for the evildoers will be punished in due time.

[37:28]  ⁵ tn Heb “loves.” The verb “loves” is here metonymic; the Lord’s commitment to principles of justice causes him to actively promote these principles as he governs the world. The active participle describes characteristic behavior.

[10:30]  ¹⁰ sn This proverb concerns the enjoyment of covenant blessings – dwelling in the land of Israel. It is promised to the righteous for an eternal inheritance, and so the wicked cannot expect to settle there – they will be exiled.
