7:14 You will be blessed beyond all peoples; there will be no barrenness ¹  among you or your livestock.

Ulangan 11:21

11:21 so that your days and those of your descendants may be extended in the land which the Lord promised to give to your ancestors, like the days of heaven itself. ² 

Ulangan 12:7

12:7 Both you and your families ³  must feast there before the Lord your God and rejoice in all the output of your labor with which he ⁴  has blessed you.

[7:14]  ¹ sn One of the ironies about the promises to the patriarchs concerning offspring was the characteristic barrenness of the wives of the men to whom these pledges were made (cf. Gen 11:30; 25:21; 29:31). Their affliction is in each case described by the very Hebrew word used here (עֲקָרָה, ’aqarah), an affliction that will no longer prevail in Canaan.

[11:21]  ² tn Heb “like the days of the heavens upon the earth,” that is, forever.

[12:7]  ³ tn Heb “and your houses,” referring to entire households. The pronouns “you” and “your” are plural in the Hebrew text.
