Yehezkiel 10:2

10:2 The Lord ¹  said to the man dressed in linen, “Go between the wheelwork ²  underneath the cherubim. ³  Fill your hands with burning coals from among the cherubim and scatter them over the city.” He went as I watched.

Yehezkiel 24:6

24:6 “‘Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says:

Woe to the city of bloodshed,

the pot whose rot ⁴  is in it,

whose rot has not been removed ⁵  from it!

Empty it piece by piece.

No lot has fallen on it. ⁶ 

Yehezkiel 34:18

34:18 Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must trample the rest of your pastures with your feet? When you drink clean water, must you muddy the rest of the water by trampling it with your feet?

[10:2]  ¹ tn Heb “and he”; the referent (the Lord) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[10:2]  ² tn The Hebrew term often refers to chariot wheels (Isa 28:28; Ezek 23:24; 26:10).

[10:2]  ³ tc The LXX, Syriac, Vulgate, and Targum mss read plural “cherubim” while the MT is singular here, “cherub.” The plural ending was probably omitted in copying the MT due to the similar beginning of the next word.

[24:6]  ⁴ tn Or “rust.”

[24:6]  ⁵ tn Heb “has not gone out.”

[24:6]  ⁶ tn Here “lot” may refer to the decision made by casting lots; it is not chosen at all.
