Yehezkiel 17:18
Konteks17:18 He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Take note 1 – he gave his promise 2 and did all these things – he will not escape!
Yehezkiel 23:36
Konteks23:36 The Lord said to me: “Son of man, are you willing to pronounce judgment 3 on Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominable deeds!
Yehezkiel 37:18
Konteks37:18 When your people 4 say to you, ‘Will you not tell us what these things mean?’
[17:18] 1 tn The word הִנֵּה (hinneh, traditionally “behold”) indicates being aware of or taking notice of something.
[17:18] 2 sn Heb “hand.” “Giving one’s hand” is a gesture of promise (2 Kgs 10:15).
[23:36] 3 tn Heb “will you judge.” Here the imperfect form of the verb is probably used with a desiderative nuance. Addressed to the prophet, “judge” means to warn of or pronounce God’s impending judgment. See 20:4; 22:2.
