[3:6]  1 tn Heb “hear.”

[3:6]  2 tc The MT reads “if not” but most ancient versions translate only “if.” The expression occurs with this sense in Isa 5:9; 14:24. See also Ezek 34:8; 36:5; 38:19.

[10:12]  3 tc The phrase “along with their entire bodies” is absent from the LXX and may be a gloss explaining the following words.

[17:18]  4 tn The word הִנֵּה (hinneh, traditionally “behold”) indicates being aware of or taking notice of something.

[17:18]  5 sn Heb “hand.” “Giving one’s hand” is a gesture of promise (2 Kgs 10:15).

[22:2]  6 tn Heb “will you judge.” Here the imperfect form of the verb is probably used with a desiderative nuance. Addressed to the prophet, “judge” means to warn of or pronounce God’s impending judgment upon the city. See 20:4.

[22:2]  7 tn The phrase “bloody city” is used of Nineveh in Nah 3:1.

[24:2]  8 tn Heb “lean on, put pressure on.”

[24:2]  9 map For location see Map5 B1; Map6 F3; Map7 E2; Map8 F2; Map10 B3; JP1 F4; JP2 F4; JP3 F4; JP4 F4.

[30:16]  10 tc The LXX reads “Syene,” which is Aswan in the south. The MT reads Sin, which has already been mentioned in v. 15.

[32:6]  11 tn Heb “from you.”
