TB NETBible YUN-IBR Ref. Silang Nama Gambar Himne

Yehezkiel 7:19

Konteks
7:19 They will discard their silver in the streets, and their gold will be treated like filth. 1  Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them on the day of the Lord’s fury. 2  They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs because their wealth 3  was the obstacle leading to their iniquity. 4

Yehezkiel 17:9

“‘Will it prosper?

Will he not rip out its roots

and cause its fruit to rot 5  and wither?

All its foliage 6  will wither.

No strong arm or large army

will be needed to pull it out by its roots. 7

Yehezkiel 39:14-15

[7:19]  1 tn The Hebrew term can refer to menstrual impurity. The term also occurs at the end of v. 20.

[7:19]  2 sn Compare Zeph 1:18.

[7:19]  3 tn Heb “it.” Apparently the subject is the silver and gold mentioned earlier (see L. C. Allen, Ezekiel [WBC], 1:102).

[7:19]  4 tn The “stumbling block of their iniquity” is a unique phrase of the prophet Ezekiel (Ezek 14:3, 4, 7; 18:30; 44:12).

[17:9]  5 tn The Hebrew root occurs only here in the OT and appears to have the meaning of “strip off.” In application to fruit the meaning may be “cause to rot.”

[17:9]  6 tn Heb “all the טַרְפֵּי (tarpey) of branches.” The word טַרְפֵּי occurs only here in the Bible; its precise meaning is uncertain.

[17:9]  7 tn Or “there will be no strong arm or large army when it is pulled up by the roots.”

[39:14]  8 tn Heb “men of perpetuity.”

[39:14]  9 tn Heb “and bury the travelers and those who remain on the surface of the ground.” The reference to “travelers” seems odd and is omitted in the LXX. It is probably an accidental duplication (see v. 11).

[39:15]  10 tn Heb “as the scouts scout.”

[39:15]  11 tn That is, the aforementioned bone.
