Yeremia 6:15

6:15 Are they ashamed because they have done such shameful things?

No, they are not at all ashamed.

They do not even know how to blush!

So they will die, just like others have died. ¹ 

They will be brought to ruin when I punish them,”

says the Lord.

Mikha 7:16

7:16 Nations will see this and be disappointed by ²  all their strength,

they will put their hands over their mouths,

and act as if they were deaf. ³ 

[6:15]  ¹ tn Heb “They will fall among the fallen.”

[7:16]  ² tn Or “be ashamed of.”

[7:16]  ³ tn Heb “and their ears will be deaf.” Apparently this means the opposing nations will be left dumbfounded by the Lord’s power. Their inability to respond will make them appear to be deaf mutes.
