Yesaya 10:3
Konteks10:3 What will you do on judgment day, 1
when destruction arrives from a distant place?
To whom will you run for help?
Where will you leave your wealth?
Yesaya 29:11
Konteks29:11 To you this entire prophetic revelation 2 is like words in a sealed scroll. When they hand it to one who can read 3 and say, “Read this,” he responds, “I can’t, because it is sealed.”
Yesaya 66:17
Konteks66:17 “As for those who consecrate and ritually purify themselves so they can follow their leader and worship in the sacred orchards, 4 those who eat the flesh of pigs and other disgusting creatures, like mice 5 – they will all be destroyed together,” 6 says the Lord.
[10:3] 1 tn Heb “the day of visitation” (so KJV, ASV), that is, the day when God arrives to execute justice on the oppressors.
[29:11] 2 tn Heb “vision” (so NASB, NIV, NRSV).
[29:11] 3 tn Heb “one who knows a/the scroll.”
[66:17] 4 tn Heb “the ones who consecrate themselves and the ones who purify themselves toward the orchards [or “gardens”] after the one in the midst.” The precise meaning of the statement is unclear, though it is obvious that some form of idolatry is in view.
[66:17] 5 tn Heb “ones who eat the flesh of the pig and the disgusting thing and the mouse.”
