Yesaya 12:5

12:5 Sing to the Lord, for he has done magnificent things,

let this be known ¹  throughout the earth!

Yesaya 42:12

42:12 Let them give the Lord the honor he deserves; ² 

let them praise his deeds in the coastlands. ³ 

[12:5]  ¹ tc The translation follows the marginal reading (Qere), which is a Hophal participle from יָדַע (yada’), understood here in a gerundive sense.

[42:12]  ² tn Heb “Let them ascribe to the Lord glory.”

[42:12]  ³ tn Heb “and his praise in the coastlands [or “islands”] let them declare.”
