Yesaya 21:9

21:9 Look what’s coming!

A charioteer,

a team of horses.” ¹ 

When questioned, he replies, ² 

“Babylon has fallen, fallen!

All the idols of her gods lie shattered on the ground!”

Yesaya 23:12

23:12 He said,

“You will no longer celebrate,

oppressed ³  virgin daughter Sidon!

Get up, travel to Cyprus,

but you will find no relief there.” ⁴ 

[21:9]  ¹ tn Or “[with] teams of horses,” or perhaps, “with a pair of horsemen.”

[21:9]  ² tn Heb “and he answered and said” (so KJV, ASV).

[23:12]  ³ tn Or “violated, raped,” the point being that Daughter Sidon has lost her virginity in the most brutal manner possible.
