4:1 Seven women will grab hold of

one man at that time. 1 

They will say, “We will provide 2  our own food,

we will provide 3  our own clothes;

but let us belong to you 4 

take away our shame!” 5

[5:24]  7 sn They are compared to a flowering plant that withers quickly in a hot, arid climate.

[49:26]  12 sn Verse 26a depicts siege warfare and bloody defeat. The besieged enemy will be so starved they will their own flesh. The bloodstained bodies lying on the blood-soaked battle site will look as if they collapsed in drunkenness.
