The Lord Commissions Joshua

1:1 After Moses the Lord’s servant died, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant:

Yosua 6:12

6:12 Bright and early the next morning Joshua had the priests pick up the ark of the Lord. ¹

Zebulun’s Tribal Lands

19:10 The third lot belonged to the tribe of Zebulun ²  by its clans. The border of their territory ³  extended to Sarid.

Yosua 19:12

19:12 From Sarid it turned eastward ⁴  to the territory of Kisloth Tabor, extended to Daberath, and went up to Japhia.

Yosua 19:24

Asher’s Tribal Lands

19:24 The fifth lot belonged to the tribe of Asher ⁵  by its clans.

Yosua 24:9

24:9 Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, launched an attack ⁶  against Israel. He summoned ⁷  Balaam son of Beor to call down judgment ⁸  on you.

[19:10]  ² tn Heb “and the third lot came up for the sons of Zebulun.”

[19:10]  ³ tn Or “inheritance.”

[19:12]  ⁴ tn Heb “eastward toward the rising of the sun.”

[19:24]  ⁵ tn Heb “and the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the sons of Asher.”

[24:9]  ⁶ tn Heb “arose and fought.”

[24:9]  ⁷ tn Heb “sent and called.”

[24:9]  ⁸ tn Or “to curse.”
