Yosua 1:5

1:5 No one will be able to resist you ¹  all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not abandon you or leave you alone.

Yosua 10:8

10:8 The Lord told Joshua, “Don’t be afraid of them, for I am handing them over to you. ²  Not one of them can resist you.” ³ 

Yosua 23:9

23:9 “The Lord drove out from before you great and mighty nations; no one has been able to resist you ⁴  to this very day.

[1:5]  ¹ tn Heb “A man will not stand before you.” The second person pronouns in this verse are singular, indicating Joshua is the addressee.

[10:8]  ² tn Heb “I have given them into your hand.” The verbal form is a perfect of certitude, emphasizing the certainty of the action.

[10:8]  ³ tn Heb “and not a man [or “one”] of them will stand before you.”

[23:9]  ⁴ tn Heb “not a man has stood before you.”
