Yosua 1:5

1:5 No one will be able to resist you ¹  all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not abandon you or leave you alone.

Yosua 8:5

8:5 I and all the troops ²  who are with me will approach the city. When they come out to fight us like before, we will retreat from them.

Yosua 10:8

10:8 The Lord told Joshua, “Don’t be afraid of them, for I am handing them over to you. ³  Not one of them can resist you.” ⁴ 

Yosua 18:6

18:6 But as for you, map out the land into seven regions and bring it to me. I will draw lots for you here before the Lord our God.

[1:5]  ¹ tn Heb “A man will not stand before you.” The second person pronouns in this verse are singular, indicating Joshua is the addressee.

[8:5]  ² tn Heb “the people.”

[10:8]  ³ tn Heb “I have given them into your hand.” The verbal form is a perfect of certitude, emphasizing the certainty of the action.

[10:8]  ⁴ tn Heb “and not a man [or “one”] of them will stand before you.”
