KADMIEL [ensiklopedia]

(qadmi' el, 'El adalah yg kuno, yg mula-mula'). Seorang Lewi yg telah kembali dengan Zerubabel, disertai keluarganya (Ezr 2:40; Neh 7:43; 12:8, 24). Ia terhisab pada permulaan pembangunan kembali Bait Suci (Ezr 3:9) dengan hari pertobatan nasional (Neh 9:4-5), dan dengan pengesahan perjanjian, dengan Nehemia (Neh 10:9). Menurut L. H Brockington (Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, NCB, 1969), nama ini hampir senantiasa menunjuk pada suatu keluarga orang Lewi. JGGN/SS
