Ulangan 29:29
Konteks29:29 Secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those that are revealed belong to us and our descendants 1 forever, so that we might obey all the words of this law.
Yudas 1:19
Konteks1:19 These people are divisive, 2 worldly, 3 devoid of the Spirit. 4
Mazmur 78:8
Konteks78:8 Then they will not be like their ancestors,
who were a stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation that was not committed
and faithful to God. 5
[29:29] 1 tn Heb “sons” (so NASB); KJV, ASV, NIV, NRSV “children.”
[1:19] 2 tn Grk “these are the ones who cause divisions.”
[1:19] 3 tn Or “natural,” that is, living on the level of instincts, not on a spiritual level (the same word occurs in 1 Cor 2:14 as a description of nonbelievers).
[1:19] 4 tn Grk “not having [the] Spirit.”
[1:19] sn The phrase devoid of the Spirit may well indicate Jude’s and Peter’s assessment of the spiritual status of the false teachers. Those who do not have the Spirit are clearly not saved.
[78:8] 5 tn Heb “a generation that did not make firm its heart and whose spirit was not faithful with God.” The expression “make firm the heart” means “to be committed, devoted” (see 1 Sam 7:3).
