Wahyu 21:5

21:5 And the one seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new!” Then ¹  he said to me, “Write it down, ²  because these words are reliable ³  and true.”

Yesaya 65:17-19

65:17 For look, I am ready to create

new heavens and a new earth! ⁴ 

The former ones ⁵  will not be remembered;

no one will think about them anymore. ⁶ 

65:18 But be happy and rejoice forevermore

over what I am about to create!

For look, I am ready to create Jerusalem ⁷  to be a source of joy, ⁸ 

and her people to be a source of happiness. ⁹ 

65:19 Jerusalem will bring me joy,

and my people will bring me happiness. ¹⁰ 

The sound of weeping or cries of sorrow

will never be heard in her again.

Yesaya 66:22

66:22 “For just as the new heavens and the new earth I am about to make will remain standing before me,” says the Lord, “so your descendants and your name will remain.

Yesaya 66:2

66:2 My hand made them; ¹¹ 

that is how they came to be,” ¹²  says the Lord.

I show special favor ¹³  to the humble and contrite,

who respect what I have to say. ¹⁴

[3:13]  ¹⁵ tn Heb “for it.” The referent of the 3rd person feminine singular independent person pronoun (“it”) is probably the preceding statement: “to eat, drink, and find satisfaction.” This would be an example of an anacoluthon (GKC 505-6 §167.b). Thus the present translation uses “these things” to indicate the reference back to the preceding.
